This book has been extremely helpful in the process of shaping my attitudes and ideas with regard to the attention economy. It has provided me with tools to conceptualise the serious problems it entails, to address it from various philosophical and political perspectives and to include some tentative approaches to its solution. I have found it very valuable and even inspiring. All in all, challenging the attention economy as a permanent reality is crucial to ensure that the basic values that inspire human emancipation, namely our inalienable right to self-determination, stay relevant as a guiding force for individuals and the societies they live in.
