Tengo una incapacidad para disfrutar de las grandes obras de la literatura. En especial, si tratan sobre diletantes que se preocupan de discernir el sentido de la vida, el universo y todo lo demás sin tener la más mínima idea de en qué consiste el mundo real.
Tampoco me ha gustado nada el tratamiento de las mujeres ni la glorificación del amor tóxico que se hace en esta obra. Es cierto que tiene algunos pasajes realmente sugerentes y algunos episodios muy bien escritos, pero no es mi tipo de libro.
Mi idea era leerlo primero en modo secuencial y posteriormente hacerlo en el orden que sugiere el autor, pero al final he decidido no castigarme más.

The story it's about the absurdity of war. Idealistic people suffer because of the lives loss, other people try to make a profit. Some times ironically and some times in an lidicrous way, the author goes around and around this idea. In the end it's a bit tiresome to read once and again about this. I think I would have enjoyed much more if the book were a bit shorter.

Compré este libro básicamente por que me gustaron las ilustraciones. La idea era leerlo con mi hija, pero antes de la pagina 100, ya se había aburrido. Yo, como soy una completista, decidí terminarlo. La historia es un poco ñoña, con algunas pinceladas de feminismo, ecologismo y un amor excesivo por los puebliños nevados de Noruega.

I started to read this book because my daughter had it as an assignment in the Literature class. This way, I could help her to go through the story and I can fill a gap in the list of books that everybody must read, but I haven't. So, it's not exactly the kind of book I like to read.

This is the original pirates story, so every other one has this as a reference. You can see how much the "Pirates of the Caribbean" saga has taken from this. Some times is hard to read, because of the pirates language and the maritime vocabulary.

I have find the characters rather plain, and I have only enjoyed Long John Silver, the pirate over all. He is treacherous, a liar and a murderer. All what is needed to save his life. The story is well known and there are no surprises in …

Todos los que nos gusta leer hemos fantaseado alguna vez con montar una librería. Belén Rubiano hizo ese sueño realidad y durante unos años regentó en Sevilla una librería en el bajo de un palacete. Por la descripción que hace, no podía ser más ideal. En este libro nos cuenta anécdotas de esos años, algunas divertidas, otras curiosas y otras muy tristes. El libro es entretenido y fácil de leer y lleno de referencias a literarias que es divertido descubrir.

I really enjoyed the first book, the story of Lilith after the war and how she wake up in an alien ship and helped the aliens, against his will, to wake up others human to create a new improved race.

The second book, about his son, half human, half Oankali, it is interesting also. He threaten the Oankali decision of not allow humans breed. And he gives hope to humanity, even when then Oankali thinks that, in the end, the humanity is doomed to destruction.

The third book was less interesting for me, because it keeps talking about the same theme, about how bad the human beings are, how badly our society is built and how humanity is doomed to destruction. I find it hard to swallow that human beings are beyond hope, and that we are not able to learn to live in peace. I really agree in the …
