I can appreciate the huge work of trying to make us see what the life in the Blitz and the World War Two was for so many people. The acts of heroism that every day they had to face. But it's so tiresome to read once and again the same facts, making long chapters of going round and around the same subject, that in the last chapters you just want the hole thing to end.

At times, it's a hard book to read. But it's very interesting. It confronts the idea of intelligence versus consciousness. It exposes some situations where it is difficult to assert if someone is still an human. It makes you consider the idea of the self.
