Francisco Javier Fernández Vázquez, known as Francisco Narla (Lugo, 1978), is a Spanish writer, author of historical and mystery novels. An air pilot by profession, he began his literary career with a horror novel, Los lobos del centeno (2009), with a Galician atmosphere, followed by the crime novel Caja negra (2010). In the following works, he tackles the genre of the historical novel, set in different periods of Spanish history: Roman Hispania in Donde aúllan las colinas (2015) and medieval Spain in Assur (2012), Rōnin (2013) and Laín. El bastardo (2018, Edhasa Prize for Historical Narratives). Within his professional field, he is the author of the aerodynamic treatise Canon de performance: masa y centrado, y planificación de vuelo (2012).
