Das Gewicht der Worte

It was a bit of a slow read. Some parts were nicely done, others were just really "gooey" and hard to get through. They also felt artificially constructed - in the sense that there was no flow. I am glad that the protagonist wasn't portrayed as this supernatural savant who speaks all Mediterranean languages perfectly but the author took a realistic approach. I think this was the author's last book before he died and somehow that shone through...
