But mostly it is the story of Ayla, the girl they found and raised, who was not like them. To the Clan, her fair looks make her different—ugly. La paciencia tiene premio

Un buen libro que merece la pena leer. La historia de una mujer luchando por sus derechos en medio de una sociedad profundamente patriarcal. Ambientada en los posibles contactos de los Neandertales con los Cromañones relata una historia que poco a poco se va haciendo interesante y que deja un final abierto para futuros libros. El apoyo científico del libro es innegable y hacer correr la historia sobre la verosimilitud antropológica me parece un acierto. Hay algún hueco sobre el papel de las mujeres en la caza que a día de hoy es más controvertido, pero el contexto que proporciona a la historia lo hace verosímil. Me parece una lástima el exceso de detalle en la enumeración de flores y plantas que apenas aportan a la historia y que rellenan, a mi modo de ver, a mayor gloria de la autora y en detrimento de la historia, poco o nada. …
