In this fascinating, personal journey through history, Leslie Feinberg uncovers persuasive evidence that there have always been people who crossed the cultural boundaries of gender. Transgender Warriors is an eye-opening jaunt through the history of gender expression and a powerful testament to the rebellious spirit.

Better as a Memoir, Not Great on History

I want to start with the history, which I find to have questionable analysis on. Despite that, I always appreciate the questioning of narratives that we learn and the desire to explore further. I appreciate this aspect of the text, even if I don't entirely see eye-to-eye with the analysis presented.

But I think the memoir aspect is much better. The exploration of the self via the historical exploration is quite engaging.
