En el libro se cuenta la historia del embajador de EEUU en Berlin durante la subida al poder de Hitler. Da mucho miedo ver como lo extraordinario se convierte en normalidad y la gente acepta los abusos de poder y la privación de libertades. No puedo evitar hacer comparaciones, salvando las distancias, con la situación actual en países como EEUU, Turquía y un poquito España.

El libro se me ha hecho un poco pesado. Resulta un poco aburrido leer la sucesión de picnics, fiestas y amantes de la hija del embajador. Por otro lado, resulta sorprendente la libertad de la disfrutaba esta mujer en los años 30.
